Library Media Center Policies
Mission statement The mission of the Westbrook High School Library Media Center is to support the development of information literate students and to support reading, learning, instruction and the curriculum at Westbrook High School. The library media center promotes the planning, implementation and use of technology in the school and encourages students to use that technology effectively, responsibly and independently. The library media center also strives to create and support partnerships with the public library and other resources in the community.
Library Policies
Students are encouraged to visit to the Library Media Center to study, research or quiet reading.
Students must have a pass to gain access to the library.
Students from class:
Students can visit the library from class with a pass from that classroom teacher.
Students from study hall:
- Students wishing to use the Library Media Center during study halls need to secure their entry pass from their study hall teacher first.
Study hall teachers have 5 study hall passes to distribute.

Once arriving in the Library Media Center, students put pass in basket, and sign in at the counter.
Computer Rules
- Each student should have submitted an Internet Usage Policy Form that is file in the Library Media Center. If no form is on file, those students will not have access to the Internet.
- Computers are for school work only-no games.
- Students must abide by the Westbrook Public Schools Rules and Ethics for Computer Users contract.
Additional hours of availability:
7:40am-2:40pm
If students need to work in the Library Media Center after 3pm, informing Mrs. Giangreco prior to that time will be appreciated.
No food or drink
Per Westbrook Board of Education: No food or beverages are allowed in the Library Media Center (unless approved by Mrs. Giangreco).
Disruptive behavior will result in loss of library privileges.
