Health Notes
The office must be notified by a parent when a student is out ill. Please report any case of strep throat or mononucleosis to the health office.
Please have all students return, as soon as possible, the pink student information forms signed by their parents to the main office.
9th graders: The Health Office will be conducting vision and scoliosis screenings beginning in October. If you have any concerns or questions contact the school nurse, Susan Cawley, RN at 399-6214.
10th graders: Each sophomore student is required to submit a Comprehensive Physical Exam on the state’s blue form. If your physical is still not completed please schedule your appointment as soon as possible. A sports physical does not include the same information therefore it does not fulfill the requirement.
Asthma: Asthma attacks can vary from mild to life threatening. Attacks can last minutes to hours or even days. Common cold, exercise, or environmental irritants can trigger an asthma attack. Don’t be caught without your inhaler. All students who carry an inhaler with them during school or school- sponsored activities, including sports, must complete a Medication Administration Form. It is recommended to keep one inhaler in the health office and one on your person.
Medications: Reminder that all medications must be administered through the health office. Parent permission must be forwarded on the Annual Health Report Update in order for a student to receive Tylenol or Ibuprofen.
Cold Season: Reminder that we are approaching cold and flu season and the best way to prevent spread is through hand washing or instant hand antiseptic and using Kleenex as needed. Drink plenty of fluids and get proper rest to boost the immune system.
Thank you.
Sue Cawley, R.N.
